Team Creation
Rally rats! The time has come to begin forming your teams. The next email sent will be sent only to registered competitors, so be sure all of your potential teammates are on-board! There are only a handful of driver tickets left. DO NOT reply to thread with your team makeup. I will request that at a later time. I don't need this info yet.
Things to consider when choosing teammates:
-Every team member should be a unique and positive aspect of your team.
-Your team should have a goal that is understood by every teammate. If you come to be competitive, every team member needs to also have a competitive spirit. If you come to have a leisure ride, every team member must agree that the competition isn't important and you're just here to enjoy the ride.
-You need to discuss what will happen if your team performs very well on Day 1 but you didn't originally intend on being competitive.
- You should always spread the workload between teammates.
- This is a long 3 days. Be sure your friends are worthy of your company for 3 days. Likewise, be sure you are worthy company too.
-In the past, rally has put friendships on the rocks, no pun intended. Be sure your friends are emotionally ready for the possibility you underperformed.
-Navigator isn't exclusively navigator, and everybody is mechanic. -A few kind words go a long way to keep your team on track to success.
With these things in mind if you have chosen to be a competition team you are expected to perform like a competition team and maintain a competitive mindset. The teamwork and camaraderie displayed during rally is unlike anything I had ever experienced before RCR.
With less than 4 months left, you have just enough time to begin preparing your vehicles for longer driving days and preparing your coolers for great campsites. This year will be one for the record books!
This is the final reminder to sign teammates up. The next email I send will be sent to registered competitors only! If you have any questions feel free to ask them here.
